Basil we are so sorry to hear of your passing. You have been in my life as long as I can remember. I remember so distinctly the little black hat you so frequently wore, your love for large cups of very weak, sugary tea and cauliflower cheese which you had in place of the detested green vegetables you so disliked. You had the patience of a saint trying to teach me how to tell the time and how to ride a bike as a child and Basil I apologise if I sent you prematurely grey. Rest in peace Basil. You have had a very full life. Your expertise in all things close to your heart will be missed by many. I know the family will be suffering your loss immensely and we grieve with them and for them.
